Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was an Romanian gymnastics instructor, who was later Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci aged six. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships and finished 13th. In the following year, she won the title of champion. At her first international event in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became an overall junior champion. In 1975 she was awarded 4 gold and 1 silver medal in her debut senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. The first female to perform a reverse double salo with the bar with a parallel surface after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry in her teens. The path she took to success began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
